Fourteen years later, the original "Shawinigan handshake" victim is still not amused by Jean Chretien's gags.

I never did have a problem with Chretein defending himself back then and still don't today. My problem is with those posters out there, and we know who they are, that would still be calling for the PM's head on a platter if it was a Conservative PM.

The "chokee" in this case, should just fade away and keep quiet.

The Shawinigan Handshake is pretty mild compared to the South African Necklacing.

Better check your wallet, Iggy, after getting any kind of handshake from Chretien.

Nice picture. Chretien throttling Trudeau's kid.

My guess would be it's pretty symbolic of what he'd like to have done to daddy.

Better that picture, than the one of what he did to Paul Martin. And, this little titmouse wasn't a victim...he was a recipient.

He's lucky that's all he got for coming close to the leader of this great country regardless of political party.

The original chokee was offered and took $500+ from the rcmp for repairs to his face. This guy needs to ask some of the ppl who were arrested without charge and thrown in slammers with no access to even toilets, let alone a phone call, if they were offered compensation after the G20 police state operation. He should shut up and count himself fortunate.
