How about we do away with the Indian Act and treat Indians like every other person in Canada and not based on their race.

I've heard talk about the IA for quite a few years now, every once in a while
someone pops up and says scrap it.

Wont happen imo, the Natives get too much from it, the Ministry
has a vested interest in keeping it.

Too bad, it has been a bad idea for a long time now.

Shawn Atleo told the assembly's annual meeting in Winnipeg on Tuesday that federal laws governing aboriginal people have led to high rates of suicide, poverty and health problems.

Yeah, I'm sure that's the reason for the high rates of suicide, poverty and health problems. Not the living in the middle of butt fuck no where in complete isolation. It's the laws. Another moron with his head in the sand.

Yep we can replace it with an animatronic Stephen Harper on his knees. With a tape loop that says "We are sorry, we are sorry..." and an Aboriginal Sustenance Supplement Welfare Provision Port System that shits out money any time a Native asks.
