Anyways this is purely ridiculous, how about all the women in Gaza move away to a country that's a little more acceptable to there rights and leave Hamas with there anti-women rules. True enough. One argument advanced against polygamy is when Europe abandoned it, rulers found it much harder to raise armies, resulting in less wars than would otherwise be the case. Certainly there is a big worry about the 30 - 100 million Chinese boys growing up who won't be able to find a wife (cause of preference for boys in a one child policy). They are expected to cause all kinds of problems, from crime to wars.

I guess wives just keep the guys from getting in trouble because they're worn out with the battles on the home front.

Well, while the Taliban were in power in Afghanistan, they passed religious edicts banning young boys from wearing shorts, to prevent titillating the older men. Then again, they have some Greek ancestry which would explain a lot.
