Dutch may use 'decoy Jews' to fight racism

Reports of increased anti-Semitism and a secret video showing Jews harassed on the street in Amsterdam have prompted Dutch authorities to consider using "decoy Jews" -- undercover officers wearing yarmulkes -- to combat hate crimes.

    Recent press reports have claimed that anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Netherlands due to increasing friction with the country's Muslim minority, which now makes up 6 percent of the population.

    Since they're decoy Jews, does that mean real Jews won't be considered for this assignment?

    There is something Pythonesque about that term. Since decoy ducks are used to attract real ducks, I have an image of the decoy being chased down the street by a bunch of adoring Hasidim.
