Russia has begun its previously stated plan to buy Canadian dollars, adding credence to the loonie's status as a second-tier reserve currency.

    The Russians are pretty smart to diversify their holdings and the loonie is a very stable currency so the move makes sense. :wink:

    Those Russians; one minute they act like your friend, then the next minute their holding a knife to your throat. It's like having a bi-polar friend.

    Others invest in currency. Russia 'hoards'...... doesn't sound like 'left' bias at all...

    I was thinking the same thing. Change it to the word 'buys' and it doesn't sound so bad. Kinda like the bias people attribute to both the CBC and FOX. Edit: CBC would be 'hoards', FOX would be 'props up'.

    Sounds more like a 'right' bias to be painting Russians in a negative light. Canada is an attractive place to invest. That's why our dollar is flying high and it's why we're currently handcuffed in terms of monetary policy.
