"Life" meaning they'll be out on parole and eligible for a pardon in about 5 years.

You didn't read the story at all, did you? Says right under the headline, no parole for 18 years. They can apply for faint hope parole at 15 years, and would probably get it (very unlikely to re-offend).

I would like to see the mother charged with aiding and abetting - she's in on it as much as the men are.

And no, it won't stop this crap. What will stop it is determining if immigrants are actually culturally attuned to this country before they are allowed in. And giving them a list that clearly spells out what we don't stand for in this country. Like that community in Quebec did, that they caught so much crap for that they reversed it. I don't see what's wrong with telling immigrants clearly what our expectations are of them, including letting them know before they come here that their children will likely adopt western values and they parents are not allowed to kill them for that. Just pisses me off that people come here expecting to live the same life as they did at home, just with better benefits.

It may be outlawed, but it happens there often - just give the cops a few bucks, and they'll be very understanding.
