As BP struggles to get its oil spill under control in the Gulf of Mexico, some B.C. residents are up in arms over the company's plans to drill here at home.

I do think that it says a lot when we are talking about footprints over a 300 square kilometer area, and the environmentalists are worried about a footprint which is likely going to be smaller than their protests will cause.

Exploratory searches for natural gas are not massively visible undertakings. This is an assessment project, and while I can get why they don't want BP doing it they are blowing it out of proportion.

Natural gas is a whole different ballpark to oil.
