Just the NDP showing its true colours.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper called on NDP MP Libby Davies to resign as her party's deputy leader after she suggested Israel has been occupying territory since the country came into existence.

"Mr. Speaker, this is a fundamental denial of Israel's right to exist," Harper said in the House of Commons on Tuesday. "It repeats the kind of comments that were made by Helen Thomas on which she was forced to resign and the member of the NDP who said those should be forced to resign as well."

Thomas was the veteran White House correspondent who resigned after saying Jews in Israel should "get the hell out of Palestine" and "go back to Poland, Germany, America and everywhere else."

Liberal foreign affairs critic Bob Rae also denounced Davies' comments.

Seeing that it was posted on YouBoob! She eventually realized what a cumb dunt she was.

Since her comments were made public, Davies has posted on her website a letter she sent to the editor of The Ottawa Citizen.

"My reference to the year 1948 as the beginning of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory was a serious and completely inadvertent error," she wrote. "I apologize for this and regret any confusion it has caused. I have always supported a two-state solution to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and have never questioned Israel's right to exist and the Palestinians' right to a viable state."

Aaah come on ! I didn't say I don't want them to "interbreed". I just said i'm not for it. I think the same with the whites. If we all interbreed we will all have brown hair, brown eyes, small nose, etc etc. That's it. /end

what does hair colour, eye colour and nose size have to do with anything? Scientist have proven that blue eyes were the result of a genetic flaw, an incomplete form of ablinism in the eye.....now back to the subject at hand cumb dunt NDP MPs denying Israel has a right to exist.

This gets me every time... howcome every time someone speaks out against the policies of Israel's government (which I wouldn't even go as far as to say she did that), they're brand as being anti-semitic?

    You're a coward.

this wasn't a complaint about the Israeli government's policies. This was someone claiming Israel should never have been created. Read the article and listen(on the video) to the questions she was asked and what her responses were...then comment.

I myself have always wondered, how the international community in 1948 thought it was a good thing to "expropriate" land from another nation?
I must say I have some Jewish ancestry although, I am not Jewish , I am wondering if this is where these comments come from?
not a point of hate. not knowing the person who said them I cant say. but the debate is bigger than we can solve here

There wasn't a nation existing there at 1948. The last nation to exist there was Judea/Judah, which was conquered by Rome in 63 BC. Since then, it has been part of a larger territory occupied by Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Crusaders, Ottomans and the British.
