The cheque is in the jail. Almost 1,200 convicted criminals in Ontario jails will be receiving more than $550,000 in “transition” cheques to offset the pinch of the 13 per cent harmonized sales tax

I don't qualify for any rebates of any kind. But really what a joke $100 bucks compared to what you will be paying. I don't vote in Ontario provincials, but my guess is that because its really a H(arper) Sales Tax that even if the PCs got elected they wouldn't change anything.. other than they might stop the cons from getting it anymore.

This is what's so idiotic about all these rebate schemes, and what does it cost to administer. Just make it a tax credit that reduces your income tax. Better yet just raise the basic deduction by the equal amount.

I agree andyt... rebates are a crock and people think oh! got $100 bucks from the gov't.. but the gov't will rake in billions.. The HST is a con game by the cons..

Yet the Libs gladly inherited the GST after they promised to get rid of it while campaigning. You really need to get rid of that hairball.
