Japanese scientists are celebrating the successful deployment of their solar sail, Ikaros.

    That's great an all, but until we start using Hydrogen as a primary source of propulsion for cars, trucks and air planes... we won't be going very far I think.

    Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the known Universe.

    We could travel great expanses of space using hydrogen.

    Better yet use nukes for propulsion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_pulse_propulsion Good way to use them up

    If it wasn't for the Germans, space flight wouldn't be much of anything. Von Braun is the one that brought this all about.

    If we used cars, trucks and aeroplanes to explore the Universe - where would we fill up?
