It's probably quite intentional that this info was released. By publicly announcing this, Iran now knows that not even the Saudi's are going to stand by Iran if they get attacked.

Eh...Saudi Arabia and Iran weren't exactly the best of friends before this. The whole Sunni-Shiite thing. One of the biggest threats to Saudi Arabia is Iran.

Saudi is the smartest nation in the middle east. I don't like their social symbolism or their agenda, but they're damned good at playing the global game.

All the while Arab nations huff and puff at Israel, Saudi quietly ignores all the shenanigans, instead it uses its wide array of Islamic charities to funnel money to people who actually do real damage.
