No baby or small child should be left unwatched with any family pet....ever.

This is a tragedy those parents are never going to forgive themselves for.

yes...dumbasses automatically assumed it was a pitbull. I wouldn't leave one of those bug eyed, vibrating, purse rats around a newborn.....and who says it's intact.

sure the parents are to blame, and something should be done about it, but i think they have already payed the ultimate price for their actions or inactions.

I don't think they should be charged unless the dogs were known to be dangerous. As MAC says, they've already paid the ultimate price. They probably thought their pets were harmless. But this should lead to an education campaign that you never leave small children unattended with any dog. You'd think people would know that by now.

Huskies are not as benign as it implied. They are more than "territorial" in my opinion. I have been badly frightened by more huskies than pitbulls. Maybe because the pitbulls have received so much attention. Wow. What a tragedy.

You can't know or be prepared for "everything".

Which is why you should always be around a three week old baby, not leave it strapped into a carrier with two dogs while you go and smoke. Jail time for both of them I say!

This is no worse than when that guy got drunk and brought his kids outside in a snow storm.
