Veterans and those grateful for their sacrifices have marked the 66th anniversary of the D-Day landings, remembering the invasion that turned the tide of the Second World War.

When I see rows of grave markers from both world wars in Europe and the Pacific I feel so humbled.

I am fortunate enough never to have fought in a war, my father did, my uncles did and some of my cousins fought in WW II. They and those thousands saved the world and made it possible for me not to fight in a war.

    Thank You.

There's an old saying that those who do learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
