Prime Minister Stephen Harper's proposal to create a democratically elected Senate hit a speed bump Thursday when a Conservative-appointed senator spoke out against the idea.

    Jesus, every democracy elects their representatives. Stop delaying the inevitable, an elected senate is coming one way or another.

    Yeah, its called the House of Commons. There's no need for a another chamber of elected representatives. Its redundant. It will just "water down" legislation. Abolish it.

    Agreed. The biggest problem with our system is that there's too many politicians already. Just shut the damn money-pit down.

    Although ironic, not long ago the senate was majority Libs, not a word was said, that includes anything from our lovely media.

    Now that the CPC decides to appoint a few of them in the senate, a complete different point of view all of a sudden. Sarcasm and irony, fuck yea. :)
