With at least $1.1 billion of taxpayers' money being spent and intense scrutiny expected into security operations at the upcoming G20 summit in Toronto, Canadian police forces may have more problems controlling public opinion than unruly protesters.

So the cops should just let the 'protesters' burn every bank and McDonalds?

Personally I think the protestors would be way ahead of the game by simply not showing up, at all. Then lets see anyone justify a billion dollars for protecting, who?

Well, if the various governments got off their collective arses, there's about a billion in uncollected taxes from the various Mohawk smugglers in Ontario we lose a year.
    Every year.

The G20 thing will come our way again in say 20 years.

By that time the Mohawks will have sold more illegal cigs and Canada will be out for 20-25 billion in taxes. That's just in Ontario.

Nobody will be in a demo whining about that though eh?

    Eyebrock,

That's harsh. If the government collected those taxes, who would buy all of those Dodge Charger R/Ts?

    Wada,

If nobody shows up to protest, there won't be any sort of recriminations on both sides of who did what to whom and when. Besides, they should probably just start holding these sorts of meetings at undisclosed locations or at the research base in the Antarctica.

Agreed! These nobs think there so indispensable. Egos that large should never be allowed to ask taxpayers to cover their asses. There must be a cave somewhere they can gather in.

Somebody at work suggested that the G20 countries all get together, buy an island with a 10,000 foot runway (or capable of one being built), build nice accom, harden it for security and use it every year instead of annoying the civilian populations of the worlds biggest cities.

    I think it's a fine idea.

Personally, I'd rather they flew over an active volcano and shoved the fuckers out the door.

We would only vote another load of useless wankers in again PA9.

There are no shortage of sales guys waiting to be politicians.

    As Churchill opined;

“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.”

"Ok no loud annoying sounds. Load up the rubber bullets boys!" Cuz those are much more pleasant to get hit in the head with :p

I take it $0.50 cent ear plugs won't help against this thing? Would be kind of funny they did.

If you have a choice about which to protect please let them sack McD's.
