The artcle says:"McDonald's Canada says the voluntary recall was made "in an abundance of caution" following consultations with Health Canada. It says the recall was issued after it learned of changing assessment of standards for cadmium in consumer products in the U.S."
I guess they could have said, "to hell with health regulations." BUT they did not.

I heard about this on the radio the other day. People who bought these glasses can get full refunds at any and all McDonalds. At least they aren't covering anything up. It's good they are blitzing this and getting all that defective crap back.
The glasses were manufactured by ARC International of Millville, N.J.
I guess it isn't just the Chinese that have said to hell with health regulations.
I think it's all part of the "profits at any cost" mentality at most multi-national corporations these days. Gotta keep those profits rolling in constantly or the stock price falls and then high paid execs lose their jobs after all.
CEO: "Shit now they're whining about cadmium! What's the next cheapest thing? Ok tell the lab to switch to mercury. Tell the printer to run off 'NOW- cadmium-free' labels. Tell marketing to raise the price a dollar."

From Reuters:
A spokesman for ARC declined to comment on whether the glasses were made in the United States or abroad.
What's your guess. It's already been shown that Chinese manufacturers switched to cadmium after the US started testing for lead in their products. I bet these glasses were made in China. Just because the company that sells the glasses is based in New Jersey, doesn't mean they actually produce anything there. They likely contract out to Chinese manufacturers. This is what we get for moving all our manufacturing to China.

Yeah, because for me, fast food restaurant is only good for the hasty people and no time to cook. However, don't expect that you could get nutritious food you eat. It is better to cook for our own.
Were they made in China?
