BERLIN — Three experts working to defuse a bomb from the Second World War were killed when the device exploded, injuring six others, police said Wednesday.
My family might have dropped it. One of them was a bombardier. He would be ecstatic when the the landing field came into into sight, but when the plane would land he would run out of the plane to an open field and vomit his guts out over the guilt of killing German civilians. He has sinced passed on something like this really would have bothered him.

This is a bit sick. In all sincerity and with all the best possible wishes I think you should see somebody a Priest, a doctor or somebody. Folks who had to do this in WW II didn't enjoy this.
I wish you best of luck with this, but this is not normal or good for you.

Seriously? Even if that statement towards innocent Germans aside they pull these things up from under tourist attractions as well. One from under a monument on Unter Den Linden in Berlin which I used to pass to work each day.
I'm actually shocked more have not just gone off while buried due to corrosion and vibration and what not that could set them off.
Never take them for granted... Although it's pretty common practice in Germany and The Netherlands, accidents (although rare...) STILL happen...
There are a lot of bombs still in the ground where I used to live and they take them to sea to have them detonated. It always makes the news, but in a good way.

Yeah that was kind of off-the-hook harsh to say out loud. I've, admittedly, done some rotten and crazy things here on CKA over the last couple of years but I've never said anything that cruel or cold.

If shit happens to you or your family thru no fault of theirs, you going to be all Buddhist and detached and hoist a beer to that too? My folks didn't start 2 world wars.

Do you know how many Germans were opposed to the war? How many were in the actual resistance? How many people took in Jews? Risking their own lifes doing so?
You cannot blame a whole country for the actions of one man and a couple of followers... Especially not 65 years later.
I even don't even blame the german brown shirts for fighting and doing what their country expected them to do back then, the Waffen SS is another matter though.

Nope. Your ancestors murdered the natives living here and then stole their land. Hell for all I know they might have been vichy french.
Start looking over your shoulder for karma. Idiot.

You're celebrating people killed who weren't even alive during the war?
