TORONTO - Say hello to Frankenfish. How'd you like that thing biting your ass? It can grow to 1.8 metres. The fish, I mean.

If we treat these nasties as the 'rats of fish', Alberta should be OK.

They're supposed to be tasty eating. They aren't any more vicious than a jackfish(northern pike), which have put nasty bites on swimmers and fishermen.

The paper warned of the looming danger to such species as the local whitefish.

Again, just like a jack. I was fishing up north and had a nice pickerel on the line. The water clarity was good enough to see it about 20 ft below, and the monster that came up from the depths. I watched as this jack took most of my 'catch' in one bite.

No argument there Shep. The Jack that I caught last week was big enough that I was able to put my whole hand inside him through his gills to free my lure. I could easily have put my fist/arm right up through his mouth. The only thing that stopped me from doing that was his choppers!
