Wow! Took Tipper 40 years to figure out what the rest of the world already knows.. Your husband is an opportunistic greedy douchebag.

Tipper is leaving now cause she knows the Inconvenient Truth:

Global warming is a myth. :)

Hope she comes out as a sceptic next week.

Maybe Al couldn't "hide the decline" any more.

Maybe temperatures aren't the only thing refusing to rise around the Gore household these days.

Oh noes. People are making jokes about a cultural figure. Certainly because many were forced to watch his terrible docudrama we now must respect said cultural figure like we do our own family and friends.

Might have more to do with simple classlessness in having a good chuckle at someone's misfortune.

But hey, if you're into that kind of immature thing, point and laugh.

I honestly don't care less that he's getting a divorce. However, making fun of celebrities and political figures is common, even on this site. I really don't see how this is any different.

    I would guess you don't...

    ...are you speaking from experience?

Holly shit, trying to take the high and righteous ground. LOL

It's sad that they are breaking up, but I find the man greedy and opportunistic.

Tipper was not like that, more down to earth and wants to be out of the lime light.

I would say that would be a reason for this divorce.

Tipper willingly got into bed with the crazy religious kooks back in the 1980's who declared a jihad on rock 'n' roll, and gave us the PMRC. So fuck her too just for that one alone.

Oh, all right. My apologies to Tipper. It's true, I was enjoying this more than good taste should allow. Actually thumbs up to Tipper. She's deserting the good ship Albert at precisely the right moment in history. She's a smart cookie.

Gores have lots of loot to split

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage.

That can now be added to the lists of things the Gores have to split if they officially call it quits.

The couple told friends Tuesday they planned to separate after 40 years of marriage. This comes after the Gores' kids -- Karenna, Kristin, Sarah and Albert III -- have left the nest and the couple has amassed massive wealth since Al Gore left public office in 2000. The most recent figure predicted in 2007 by Fast Company was more than $100 million. Before the 2000 election they predicted the family's net worth was closer to $1 million.

Since then, the Gores have purchased the Montecito mansion, a multimillion-dollar home in Nashville, Tenn., a condo in San Francisco in addition to their home in the Washington area, an Arlington Tudor. They bought a 100-foot houseboat named, aptly, Bio-Solar One in 2008. And they own a farm in Carthage, Tenn., that includes a zinc mine.

So how did they get all this stuff?

Al Gore has parlayed politics and his zeal for talking about global warming into an Academy Award, a Grammy and the Noble Peace Prize in 2007. He is a co-founder of Current TV, brings in six figures for speaking gigs, is a member of the Board of Directors at Apple, Inc. and serves as a senior adviser to Google.

So as the Gores head toward splitsville with their fame and fortune to boot, it seems more money may be more problems when they head to court.

Fat Albert's still a nasty crook who damn near helped perpetrate the worse hoax in the history of the world though. No sympathies there. No apologies. May he choke on the 50 mill he'll have left from his scam before the world got wise, and after Tipper gets through with him.

It's the era of the Angry Right.

I'd say it's more the era of Angry People. This time it is directed at someone the lefties adore. The previous 8 years it was directed at a person the left despised.
