Let's get our vocabulary straight here. Israel conducted an armed boarding of ships that were trying to run it's blockade of Gaza. Being the military superpower of the region, they have an inherent right to intercept, board, inspect and seize any vessel that might be smuggling weapons to a neighbour dedicated to Israel's destruction.
If you attack any heavily armed soldier with clubs, iron bars and knives and throw one of their's overboard as was done to boarding Israeli commandos, you have to be a complete idiot to expect them not to shoot back in self defence.
Let's stop bashing Israel ad nauseam and start reporting the news accurately and responsibly!
I hope this cumb dunt has to pay for his own repatriation, and not the Canadian tax payer....better yet ship him to Saudi and let's see him defend womens and gays rights. All of which are protected in Israel.
Those were not "peaceful activists" or "innocent people bringing aid". They were armed to the teeth, and only there for one reason: to push their point. That failed.
It was very smart of Israel to put the footage they shot on YouTube.
It would be nice to see these 'activists' demonstrate in Arab cities about how gays and women are treated and oppressed in the Arab world instead of just vilifying Israel and the Jews.
"Mr_Canada" said to push their point. That failed.
Did it?
Everyone is talking about this. The deep Anti-Arab consensus on CKA isn't matched worldwide.
If they intended to push their point, they certainly got a message out, with intense media interest and vigorous social debate on the whole matter. Not sure if I can call that a failure to push a point. Their point of "we are peaceful, we bring aid, let us in, we are good"? Ah, that certainly failed.
Remember those "Aid people" who thought it was a good idea to have children adopted out of Haiti, and just took them across the border, and were surprised that that was not such a good idea? Because hey, "we are here for the people, and what we do is best for the children". Yeah, right. I dunno, but I am sooo fed up with all those "do-gooders" who think they have all the power and think they can do whatever the hell they please...
"Mr_Canada" said If you believe their main objective was purely for aid and to promote peaceful protest by humanitarian aid to Gaza, then yes, that did fail in many people's eyes.
That's what they want us to believe...
If you believe their point was to bring a bright light to Gaza, it accomplished that in ways I'm positive no one foresaw.
I don't think Gaza has been out of the news in years.
"Wada" said It was do0gooders who brought you things like the Magna Carta or even your right to vote. Be careful what you wish for.
I have no problem with do-gooders. I do however have a problem with people who think they can bully their way into a problem, and when called on it, play the martyr.
