It has been sold more than once in the past decades. What's the big deal now?

I can just picture the real estate agent's spiel...

"Here's the kitchen (and watch the puddle of blood on the tile), and in the living room we have free lighting courtesy of the Fires of Hell, oh, and you'll find that you don't need a burglar alarm since the poltergeists are extremely effective at dragging intruders into alternate dimensions. Oh, and the bathrooms have been recently remodeled!"

In Goth circles that house may be quite attractive.

The entire 'Amityville Incident' was proven to be staged.

The Lutzes(sp?) admitted to conning everyone years ago.

The house was bought 55,000$ and now they demand 1,500,000$.

Inventing a horror story seems to be a good way to get the value of a house higher !

Yeah, they did it at the behest of the guy that put the book together. It was sort of like the original reality show. The Lutzes were basically actors playing the script by the author. They were paid employees in the process of selling a book and film script. A pretty cool scam, really.

Looking at real estate prices in Amityville, New York this is priced about right for the acreage and square-footage.
