It's more of a haute cuisine version of hot-dog-eating contests.

You haven't had a good one yet then. Especially if its cheese and not cheese curds. A good gravy makes a difference too.

But then you just may not like em regardless.

I've had it in a few places. The last place was at CFB Shilo a few years ago, in the officer's mess. It's just not my thing. My wife gets grossed out when I put ketchup on fries and gravy, and I have a friend who puts vinegar on them, which i find gross and another buddy puts jalapenos on his...blech!! To each his or her own.

different pastas with different breads work well. My family usually has foccacia bread with olive oil, pesto and basalmic vinegar(as a dip) when we have pasta with a tomato based sauce.

Heh...I do too. I like it when the sauce has soaked into the noodles well(I think those that store their left over sauce and pasta seperately are strange) and you get all the meat that has settled on the botton. Sort of like a sloppy Joe with some noodles thrown in for good measure. This is best after about 2 days of sitting in the fridge and being reheated at least once.
