Some people shouldn't leave their home. They're just not equipped to deal with society.

Article states she is intellectually challenged, slow in other words, she was clearly taken advantage of, when you go to a dealer to replace tires on an '06 model and drive away in an inflated priced new model, '06 isn't that old, I gotta wonder how they even talked her into it.

"Obviously we expect our dealers and staff to operate professionally,” said spokesman Greg Young. “We’ll see what the (court) determination is.”

Really. You are not going to do anything until the court says their actions are not so nice...

Wow. They offered her a loan she is not eligible for, they sold her a car she didnt came in for in the first place, they overpriced everything on the car she didnt want, and you, as Mazda Canada think that's a good deal?

Remind me to never buy a Mazda...

“We didn’t do anything wrong in the case of this transaction,” said Trung. “We made a little bit of money on the deal. I guess she was not happy with it.”
Of course she wasn't you stupid fucking zipperhead, selling a $40K car for $66K is NOT a "little bit of money on the deal"
And triple charging for the "protection package"? Yeah, the protection package is a big enough scam without charging triple for it. (For some that may not know, NEVER, EVER agree to go with a dealer's protection package. You could get the same things done after market for a fraction of the cost. The only thing I'd suggest paying for would be the glass etching, it's actually a fairly effective professional car thief deterrent)

The regulator charged the dealership; Trung, 38, of Vaughan; and sales manager Mohammed (Moe) Shaikh, 46, of Mississauga with “engaging in unfair practice by making an unconscionable representation,” contrary to the provincial Consumer Protection Act.
This may not be a violent crime, but if either or both of these people are immigrants, deportation should be in order.

    Ugh.
    That's far over the top.

Being an asshole doesnt make you eligible for deportation.

Being an asshole might not, but being a thief does. It's real simple Brenda, we have laws in this country, and if immigrants can't respect them, they should be invited to leave, post haste. We didn't HAVE to let them in in the first place.
And even though the vast majority of car salesmen are slime, it's still no excuse for what these two did.
So sending them to jail for 2 years does what? Makes the rest of Ontario get to pay for their upkeep. That sounds fair. Immigrants rip off Canadians, Canadians get to pay for them to stay in country. Great system.

But you did let them in.
Theft is no reason to deport someone, hell, you even get let in with that on your record.

Anyway, just because they are not called Jones, and are a bunch of assholes, the MUST be immigrants, so KICK THEM OUT!!

I am sick an tired of that immigrant bashing that is going on on this site lately.

Think the extra money they on the deal made is worth this negative publicity?

First off Brenda, I said IF, they were. Secondly, I'm not really much of an immigrant basher cept when they pull shit like this, or worse. Hell, my parents and brother and sister are immigrants.
One other thing, my feelings in regards to this and others regarding immigrants has dick all to do with names or where they might come from. If the 2 people involved had been named Wilson and MacGregor and were originally from England and Scotland respectivley, I'd STILL say the same thing, kick their asses out!
And adding more than 50% to the sticker price of a new car that was in effect, a USED car goes beyond mere theft. They misrepresented BOTH, their product and their service. Less than $2000 a month income is NOT going to qualify a person to finance a "$66,000" car, even with a 6 year old trade-in. They didn't just steal from her, they intentionally set out to ruin her financially knowing fucking well she couldn't afford the car.
But yeah, I guess Canadians should be on the hook for feeding, clothing and housing these two "highly respectable" people so that when they get out, they can work on their next victim.

I don't get how they will make any money on this deal. She can't afford the payments anyway, so the car will be repoed - that's gotta cost them money. Maybe they make money off the fact they can sell her car?

BTW, the only way the cost of the car is $66,000 is with the finance fees. Nobody includes those when asked how much they paid for the car.

If they turned out to be immigrants, maybe, but you would have never stated the same thing as you did in your previous post if they were named that, because it would never have come up in your mind.

The moment one has a foreign name, they "must be immigrants" or muslims or whatever, and that is BAD!! They can't just be plain assholes, there is always another tag given.

Just to make clear, YES, they are assholes, and the stance Mazda Canada takes on this makes me furious.
That said, Andy is right, it is with finance fees, that no one ever includes, just as we don't with mortgages.

Actually yeah, yer right. So in effect she got screwed into "only" paying $50K for a $39K car, much better
And keep in mind, that's AFTER they took her "trade-in" into account.

And to answer yer question. With the advent of in house financing, most dealerships get the car back when it gets repoed, and they do indeed resell it, often as a "demo"

Personally, I think financing your car at the dealer is the most stupid(est ) thing you can ever do...
