Mammoths had a form of "anti-freeze" blood to keep their bodies supplied with oxygen at freezing temperatures.

    Hmmm. The article talks about "how remarkable" it is to bring back proteins from such an old creature yet it was only in the last year or so that proteins from a 65 million year old t.rex were 'brought back' and shown to be linked to modern day chickens.
    I point this out as it leads to the credibility of the source.
