Vatican makes clear bishops must report sex abuse

THe law should apply equally regardless of what their collar is.

Isn't this akin to closing the barn door after the horse escapes?

I read a Washington Post article on this that had a very interesting paragraph:





there is so much wrong in that sentence it makes the blood boil.

The fact is every single Bishop, Priest or yes even pope that was involved in these cover ups needs to be thrown in jail for a bit (a REAL jail) so they learn that they are NOT above the laws of our country.

The fact that those who sexually and physically abused kids in the residential schools here in Canada not being locked up already for a bit urks me to no end.

Tiger said it best. It shouldn't matter what collar you wear. The law is the law. Sexually abusing a child is illegal and you should be punished and rehabilitated for doing it. Period.

I dunno what kind of rehab we can give them unless we change some laws.
I seem to recall a case from several years ago where a convicted pedophile the justice system to castrate him, claiming that the urges would always be there until. They wouldn't do it.
