There should be no problem with admitting that American's sweetheart is Canadian.

Americans and Canadians have the same basic ideas of what a sweetheat is and I don't think Canadians particulary mind as long as some indication somewhere is made that she is indeed Canadian.

I'm always happy to remind Americans when somebody they like or admire is Canadian

The best actors, singers, musicians, sports people, writers are Canadian. When I was in Florida, I won a few bets about Jim Carrey being Canadian. I even had a waitress try and tell me Celine Dion was American... I said ya right, moi aussi

I dont think most Americans really care that Some actors and singers etc. etc. are Canadian.

Its only you guys that care.

Why do most of them move here then? you ever wonder? even Wayne Gretzky moved here.

Most? Really? MOST of them still maintain homes and properties in Canada.
But it certainly makes sense to also live close to where you work.
If you worked in the Texas oil fields, would you live in Maine, or even Northern Cali?
Gretzky stayed there cuz he's pussy whipped by an American chick who didn't want to move away from her "career" Plus his kids are born there. Oh and ummm being traded isn't QUITE the same as making the decision yourself.
Do ya think Syd Crosby drives from Canada to the Pengiuns home games or flies from Canada to meet his team for road trips? Of course not cuz that would be stupid.
I guess most of them that are actors that live in LA(for eg) do it for the exact same reason Americans that are actors do, it's closer to their work.
Not a real difficult concept to grasp really.

You can paint it any way you want to. Just a couple of other things. Why do they stay here during the off season. And why do they stay here after they retire? And did you ever wonder why they become US citizens?

I would say climate and exposure. Back in the day the movie industry was based in Hollywood. There are more people in the US so therefore more money to be made. Now they are making movies in Canada and everywhere else. But ya,, they move to the southern states for the warmth..

I dunno, why do Americans move to Canada and stay here? Why do they become Canadian citizens? Why do they stay after they've retired?
