There is something to be said though about browsing through the old videos and renting an old favourite that catches your eye. I used to live near Jumbo video back when I still had a VCR and they had a huge selection. They had a great deal for renting 3 videos and you could get lost in a weekend of old faves.
Life moves on though.
For Mr C. A was a older means of watching prerecorded movies.

Good luck finding a place that rents VHS nowadays!
Call me an old fart, but I still find it hard to see the difference between VHS and DVD (or DVD and Blu-Ray for that matter). I still think it's a just scam to get us to buy all our old favourites over and over and over again.

Oh this was over a decade ago. Movie quality isn't all that better but what really sucks is that I have 3 different DVD players and I very often find that it skips. Pisses me right off.
My biggest pet peeve about DVDs vs VHS is that you are forced to sit through that stupid anit-piracy crap (and any other commercials that companies - like Disney) tack on before the movie starts.
Now I load the movie into the DVD player and go make popcorn or something so I'm not forced to watch that shit.
