HMS submarine commander reprimanded after grounding

A nuclear submarine commander whose vessel ran aground in the Red Sea has been reprimanded by a court martial.

We had something similar happen on the Yukon in '85(if memory serves me right). The OTW ran us over a ridge and pretty well ripped off our sonar dome. Good thing there were no ping bosns in there.

In any navy in th eworld if a sub run agound and the sub can't free itself itself "quitely" all the officers and senior enlisted are screwed by their navy.

A friend of mine was a US Navy Dentist. He knew of a career XO of a sub that grounded and the crew spent 4 days trying to free itself before asking the navy for help.

All the Officers put in to separate from the navy as they knew their careers were over, The senior NCO on duty got formal reprimands.

Your right the Navy gets upset when you screw with there billion dollar toys.
