COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Gov. Ted Strickland on Monday postponed the execution of a convicted killer who managed to take an overdose of pills in his death row cell and was found unconscious just hours before he was to be driven to his execution.
"PublicAnimalNo9" said I never understood why they try and save someone that attempts suicide when they are going to execute them anyway. Or why they'd even care.
I'm assuming it has something to do with preventing lawsuits from his family, though they are gonna have to explain how a death row inmate got pills in the first place. Still sucks, they shoulda just let hinm croak and saved the state whatever it cost.

Yes, to waste more money on this creep is certainly unconscionable. I agree they should have let this insect die and reported that he was executed.

Actually...there's a good reason for that. It's not the inmates, but anybody else who comes in contact with the equipment. You don't want the janitor accidentally poking himself with a needle that's been in a few dozen inmates.

That's Like refusing heroin to a terminally ill person in severe pain because of the threat of addiction.
