Fourteen month old Song Sheng was born with Lamellar Ichthyosis. He has no pores and therefore can not sweat to cool his body down. His parents are trying to get him help but have not been successful.

So whenever you think you're having a bad day remember this kid and put it into perspective. I can't even imagine what kind of life the kid will lead assuming he can survive into adolesence, never mind adulthood.

Poor little guy, shit like this should be reserved for the worst kinda scum, not some innocent that hasn't even had a strat at life.

Spent a week in BC children's hospital with our little one, at 3 months she needed a tune up on her right kidney. Surgery went great and she's fine now, but there are some really small kids in that place with huge problems. It's heartbreaking.

Kids that had been in there since birth and are over a year old. Some kids that will never leave the place. Almost made me feel guilty leaving after a week with a perfectly healthy little girl.

I now buy their lottery tickets every year and donate whenever I see a box.

I don't think I could work in a children's hospital. Eventually the grief would eat at my soul.

I wouldn't work, but I intend to give some of my time there when I retire.
