Some British media are slamming Canada as being a bad Olympic host, with much of the criticism focused on its role in the death of the 21-year-old Georgian luger.
It was an unfortunate accident that could have happened anywhere. I bet if it was a Canadian luger, the international press wouldn't even be blinking an eye over it. As for the whining and complaining about the lack of practice the other nations have been allowed, EVERY country that hosts the Olympics pulls that shit off. But when Canada does it, well our global perception of fair-play and being the nice guy gets shit all over. Think our Canadian hockey team is gonna play nice? Cuz if you do, you'll be disappointed there as well. This is sports, why the hell should we make it easier for others to win? Besides, the practice times for the other countries have been well within IOC guidelines.
"Arctic_Menace" said The investigation concluded that the sad and unfortunate death of Nodar Kumaritashvili was the fault of the athlete himself sadly.
and yet, there have been several other close calls,
and they have the starting positions down the track..

seems funny for 'the athletes fault'
I was referring to the accident of the Georgian luger. What I posted is what the investigation concluded. What you also fail to mention is that several athletes now claim the track is too slow, so it goes both way and is ultimately left to the athletes what they feel is more comfortable.
HA!! They haven't driven on the freeways here in BC. They are anything but polite.
