How do you know when Iggy has made a mistake? When he has opened his mouth!

Few people are giving him support. Talking about abortion is like unleashing a tiger. You are not sure what will happen.

I disagree with Archbishop Collins, though. Birth control is an integral part of the issue of maternity and family life.

Access to an abortion clinic is a right provided by our health care services. Tom Flanagan's comments are cynical at best and ignorant at worst. And his comments are directed at a flagrantly misogynist newspaper to boot.

If birth control is an integral part of the issue of maternity and family life, then so is access to that service. Abortion is a form of birth control. It is not a form of birth control to be taken lightly and should only be used as a last resort, but it is birth control nonetheless.

It's always nice when you offend your own party more than anyone else.

The most recent criticism came from Archbishop of Toronto Thomas Collins, who said on Thursday that, “In light of the many positive contributions that Canada can make to the improvement of maternal and child health, it is astonishing that the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Michael Ignatieff, has issued an official statement advocating contraception and abortion as fundamental elements in addressing this important issue.”

And in light of the Catholic Church's continuing forays into the world of government policy, their tax exempt status should be removed.
