The Canadian Football League wants its fans to work overtime. A year after asking fans for input on rule changes for the first time, CFL commissioner Mark Cohon wants fans to propose changes with an emphasis on how to tinker with the league’s overtime

I'm kind of inclined toward a full Overtime quarter rather than a "shootout" system. Shootouts and sudden-deaths just seem to end too suddenly. Plus, I like to see the whole field in play, this is CFL after all!

Say what you will about the CFL system at least the game isn't decided by a coin toss like in the NFL. Just ask Minnesota which system they'd prefer?

Although, I could go a full quarter to, with the team who scores the most points in the quarter winning the game and if it's still tied then give them a point each.

I don't mind the way it is.

Another full quarter when the players are already exhausted is just going to lead to more injuries.

I have to agree with Robair, playing another full quarter could quite easily lead to unnescessary injuries. I think the system they have now is probably the best, fairest way to settle the overtime, at least it beats hell out of a shoot out!

Some specific questions the CFL would like answered by fans:
Should teams scrimmage from somewhere other than the 35-yard line?
? Should teams be required to drive for a touchdown instead of settling for a field goal, or should teams be required to attempt a two-point convert following a touchdown?

That is some of the magic. If you go first do you kick a FG or go for it knowing your opponent will know exactly what they need to do to win.

Of course you might have a point that they should scrimmage from say the 40 yard line of the 50 to ensure that they must put some sort of drive together just to reach FG position.

Let's have the Cheerleaders from each team mudwrestle it out if there is a tie.

Seriously, it's fine like it is now. Although any suggestions could always be a good thing to improve on the game.

Make the players chug a beer every down in OT. At the very least in will be extremely entertaining and make the game even more uniquely Canadian.

Sure. Have them drink Molson Canadian exclusively. That would be fun to see the Quarterback throw some passes.

In the Argos case they couldn't have done worse if they had played blind sticking drunk. Ditto the Leafs. 8O
