Hey, the Flames were due. That the Oilers were so far past due they should have been repossessed a week ago didn't seem to matter much in Saturday night's Biggest Loser sweepstakes at the Saddledome.
I was very much looking forward to "Hockey Day in Canada". The first two games didn't disappoint, even though (gulp) Toronto gave Vancouver a bit of a scare in the first. I even thought that with the two Alberta team struggling, it would still be a good game and another "Battle of Alberta". After forcing myself to watch most of that game, and it was painful to watch, I wanted to send an email the our junior A team, The Grande Prairie Storm, and beg them to enter the NHL ranks. They would be guaranteed at least 12 wins a year, only against the Flames and Oilers mind you, but still, 12 wins would be pretty good for a junior A team playing in the NHL.
That was one of the worst games I've ever watched and neither deserves to call themselves NHL teams. I'm pretty sure if you went around to the bars in Calgary at 2am last night and picked out a team of drunks, they could have wooped either the Flames or Oilers. The only "Battle of Alberta" right now is between Spruce Grove and Grande Prairie at the junior level. What a crap way to end Hockey day in Canada....
Gezz you got more stamina than I do Q. I could only stomach the 1st period and then I walked over to the arena and caught the rest of the midget girls game.

Much more entertaining.
