According to Phil Edmonston of Lemon Aide Car Guide fame has said that Toyota's quality is slipping. I agree with him. He only gives the Camry a 3 out 5 star rating,
I took my Tundra in yesterday and it took all of 10 minutes to have the recall service performed. Nothing like the inconvenience of being stranded in the middle of fucking nowhere when my Fords and GMs broke down on me.

Irrelevent. You're such a whiny child, Stemmer. It's a brand name for a North American made vehicle that provides for a lot of jobs for Americans and Canadians, and funny enough, doesn't need government bailouts to keep 'em up and running.

Eh...come on. As much as you might not like the Big Three, the Japanese automakers have been basically protected by the Japanese government for years now. From the artificially low yen to strict import rules. Just recently, their attempt at a "Cash for Clunkers" would have excluded US Automakers until pressure by the US government finally allowed them in.
Just google Prius and all the assistance Toyota got from the Japanesse government for it's development, or all the assistance the governments of Canada & US gave to Toyota to set up plants in North America....

Your points are also irrlevent. A lot of vehicles are made in NA using NA parts. I'd give more credence if these were real imports.

You can't harpoon the Big Three (well, GM and Chrysler) for receiving government bailouts when Japanese automakers benefit from protectionist policy of their home governments as well. The fact that the yen was kept artificially low helped the Japanese even get a foothold in North America in the first place.

Incorrect perception then. I fully enjoy my Toyotas, however, prior that, I enjoyed my 1990 chevy pickup (though dreadfully underpowered) my 1991 Lumina mini-van and most of all, my 1978 Pontiac Pheonix.

Actually, I never took a stand on anything. I never said the bailouts were right, or what the Japanese did was wrong. All I said that there have been actions by the Japanese government in favor of the Japanese automakers that can compare to what the American (and Canadian) government did to the US automakers.
The article is regarding the accelerator pedal sticking but Stemmer is determined bring up his old chestnut regarding a rusty frame.
I guess it would be unfair to mention the massive Chrysler recall that was just in the news.
