Toyota is recalling 2.3 million U.S. vehicles to correct sticking accelerator pedals, the latest in a string of quality problems that have plagued the Japanese automaker.
240 thousand trucks recalled with rotten frames, so rotten in fact that owners were told to remove the spare tires before they flew off on the highway, so rotten in fact that the power sterring controls would fall off leaving the vehicle unsteerable.
According to Phil Edmonston of Lemon Aide Car Guide fame has said that Toyota's quality is slipping. I agree with him. He only gives the Camry a 3 out 5 star rating,

From the artificially low yen to strict import rules. Just recently, their attempt at a "Cash for Clunkers" would have excluded US Automakers until pressure by the US government finally allowed them in.

Actually, I never took a stand on anything. I never said the bailouts were right, or what the Japanese did was wrong. All I said that there have been actions by the Japanese government in favor of the Japanese automakers that can compare to what the American (and Canadian) government did to the US automakers.

All I said that there have been actions by the Japanese government in favor of the Japanese automakers that can compare to what the American (and Canadian) government did to the US automakers.
The article is regarding the accelerator pedal sticking but Stemmer is determined bring up his old chestnut regarding a rusty frame.
I guess it would be unfair to mention the massive Chrysler recall that was just in the news.
