"Canada is safer, stronger and better off" after four years of Conservative rule...

    A-O.K. goes without saying. :)

I'm going to vote lib just for the fuck of it in the next election.

Time to switch things up again.

To be honest Canada under Franco(phone) rule was better.

I regret not casting my vote for Dion.

    We have a government?

Surprisingly, yes! It actually started working again about 4 years back after about 20ish years of being on hiatus. Crazy, eh?

I'm not 100% happy with Harper.

Nevertheless, I look at other countries such as America, and Britain which have gone in the political direction the alternatives to Harper would have wanted to go, and I prefer what we've got. This based on what's happened there, against what's happened here.

I'm with Fiddledog on this one. Harper does some things that really irk me but overall he's really not a bad PM and he's done a pretty decent job.

And he just looks so manly playing the piano.

For me, probably the biggest millstone around the Conservatives (and in turn against me being able to hold my nose and vote for them) is the Harris NKOTB retreads like Flaherty and Clement. They pooched it big time here in Ontario and have connived their way onto the national stage where they're giving every impression of being as feckless in that forum as they were on the provincial one.

    Those who forget history......

Exactly correct. Forget that Harper has plunged the country deeper into debt than we've ever been. At least the fact that he's had a minority government has forced him to be somewhat diplomatic. Give him a majority government and look-the-fuck-out. The Randian idealogues will reveal their true colours and their true agenda.

"Canada is better off under Tory rule"

The statement could be made true, here and there on paper if you ignore certain realities. I'm one disappointed CPC voter though. The statement is like this: A man jumps out of an ally and starts to beat you with a baseball bat at a rate of 45 blows per minute. Then, after a minute, he slows down to 15 blows per minute. Are we "better off"? Sure. I guess.

I would like to see a leadership race. I would like to see Stockwell Day doing something that will guarantee I never see him in a headline again.

I am heading to the anti prorogation rally here shortly. They are expecting thousands.. so you are not the only disappointed CPC voter. There are 3 of them on the committee that arranged the rally here.
