TORONTO -- Rest easy, TTC riders.
The Toronto Transit Commission is launching an internal investigation after a rider — armed with a camera — caught a ticket collector catching a few winks inside his wicket.
Looks like the slot that people pass money to the collector was blocked by cardboard. Maybe he wasn't on duty or maybe he isn't a collector? Either which way the optics of the situation are pretty bloody terrible.
Yeah, but anyone who hasn't fallen asleep at work at least once in their life please put your hand up. It happens, usually to everyone, so there's no need for a giant shit fit just because the goof involved is unionized.
This happens often..not as often as them just..NOT aknowledging you when you walk by showing your transfer.. but I'm honestly suprised there hasnt been MORE poctures like this by now.
I hate the ttc, but I have no real beef with the workers, usually the drivers are friendly and helpful, but if I had to complain, it would be these booth guys who dont always seem to care at all about anything lol

The union is complaining (as it does) that no one "Checked on him" to make sure he was "OK" Sorry, but if anyone is "OK" it would be the guy getting paid to sleep.
He wasnt a body on the FLOOR, he was leaning back in a chair, his hands resting comfortably on his stomach, head back, SLEEPING.
The TTC union is good at coming across as VICTUMS even when gouging people, but not always, not this time.
And this isnt resonating because of this ONE guy, this is spreading across the news because it happens OFTEN and its the first time the TTC had to aknowledge it
"KorbenDeck" said The union will save him from getting fired.
If he's a 20 year model employee why fire him for fucking up once?
If he was hired last month and he's already had a warning or two then maybe letting him go is a good thing.
The union should make sure just because he's not the bosses favorite employee, if his record indicates he has been a solid employee, that there is no personal bias.
People fuck up, present company excluded of course. No sense firing someone you don't need to fire just so you can spend thousands of dollars training someone to take his place.
Union supporters, please kick in.
What a plonker.
Good photo though!

At least he wasn't driving the train, or a bus.

The guy's a ticket collector not a engineer building the subway trains.
That aside, I understand your point. If he's a solid worker, slap him on the wrist cause I bet he'll never think of sleeping on the job again.
