What a joke. This is a great country for criminals to live in.

I am just waiting for a terrorist to kill people and then get off the hook on religious freedoms in Canada.

Gaya has been in custody since his arrest and with 7½ years credit for the time he has already served, Gaya was sentenced to serve another 4½ years, but could be eligible for parole in 1½ years.

I hope somebody knifes this fucker while he is in prison. Is it possible to hold a telethon and raise money for bounties to make sure none of these shits leave prison alive......and see that the sympathizer who sentenced him gets what he deserves too.

We all know that getting a life sentence in Canada is equivelant to drunk driving in Hawaii, neither of which results in any real punishment. So why do they even bother to give these sentences out?

Could it be that since the rest of the world still considers a life sentence, prison time, for the duration of the convicted's life, our justice system is trying to make the rest of the world think Canada's tough on crime, when the reality is exactly the opposite?

    Inquiring minds want to know?

Obviously they are basing the life sentence on the life span of the common shrew, not humans.

The courts are just a big a danger to public safety as the terrorists are. I still say let's raise money to make sure the little turds get 'flushed' while in the toilet. They planned on trying to kill hundreds, if not thousands of Canadians and all he'll likely get is a year and a half in prison.

The judge's comments make it sound like this was just a little prank carried out by naughty boys. He needs to be looked at very carefully.

Course I read it. I'm well aware of the system I work in. Anybody getting 'Life' gets the same 2 for 1 and parole eligibility. Check out a few websites.

This is better than a 10 year term that I expected.

Go to court sometime and see the sentences handed out. You would see that in our 'justice' system this is a good result.

I hate all this misguided youth crap. By the time someone is probably 10 or 12 they know that a bomb = destruction = death = getting in shit. And I bet the people offering him jobs when he gets out are people looking for his expertise so they can pull the same thing.

Heres to hoping they get shanked in prison.

Some serious reform of the justice system is needed.

A sad day for Canada and Canadians.

Most of these '18' will be out in 2-3 years.......
