Mikael Tam of the Quebec Remparts was listed in stable condition in hospital after taking an elbow to the head from Rouyn-Noranda centre Patrice Cormier, who captained Canada at the recent world junior hockey championship.
If what's his name from the OHL got suspended for the rest of the season for his hit, it should be the minimum for Cormier... That was just so obviously intent to injure - he didn't even try to body check him... He had him lined up from the bench. WTF was he thinking?????
I don't get easily disturbed, but that poor kid convusling on the ice did the trick... I hope he's going to be OK...
"Proculation" said He's the captain of my hometown (Rouyn-Noranda). He deserves to be OUT of ALL the hockey leagues in Canada.
It was not his first time... he did another shoulder hit in the last junior championship against Sweden.
Neither of those were shoulder hits, they were both vicious elbows. He will be a very lucky person if criminal charges are not laid against him. IMO his hockey career should be over.
Oh, let me say that I am a Remparts' fans so could be a little bias.
The hit in itself seemed intentional meaning the launching of the elbow towards the opponent. But then, surely that Cormier, or no one else for that matter, expected Tam's convulsion on the ice after the hit.
One thing for sure, there are some reactions to this in the local region as well as throughout the country as a whole. There needs to be some more sportsmanship on the part of every hockey player, in any level or league.
Wanna stop this ?
Cormier should sit at home until Tam comes back 100%, and then start the suspension time, equal to the same time as the injury.
And if Tam doesnt came back, neither does Cormier.
Anything less is a joke.

I'm with martin on his suggestion.
