The B.C. government is offering schools and hospitals a break on the harmonized sales tax, which takes effect July 1.

    Publicly funded schools and hospitals get a tax break... ...does this sound like some kind of circle jerk to anybody else?

    typical Campbell sleight of hand. They'll give the rebates, but cut back their budgets even further. Unbelievable what he's able to get away with. Brags about having the lowest taxes in Canada on people making 120k a year, but introduces all sorts of regressive taxes and user fees that ding the lowest income the hardest.

    During the NDP, BC was ninth in Canada in terms of economic growth. Campbell made much of this at the time, called it the lost decade. After a decade of Campbull, BC is......ninth in Canada. Campbull blames it on the other provinces growing faster. Well, duh.

    Okay let me get this straight. Gordo is gonna give the Hospitals and the Schools an HST rebate.

    I may be wrong here but has anyone else noticed that they are publicly funded institutions, so if the Government is giving them the HST back, in essence it's just the people of this province giving them more funding.

    It's like being taxed twice. We pay the HST for the services at these insitituions and then Campbell takes more of our money and gives it back to them.

    It's starting to sound like Tony Soprano has taken over as Liberal Minister of Finance.
