I'm a little suprised that a list of planned protests has been published. I'm sure there will be more than this list shows though.

I completely expected that protests would take place, there's been so much opposition to us hosting the Olympics right from the start of the bidding process. I've always thought that there would be a lot less to fear from a terrorist attack then from a protest by locals getting out of hand which could unfortunately happen.

Oh, I highly doubt that protestors will get out of hand, considering the presence the various security forces will have.

I'm surprised they think the rest of the world gives a shit about issues in Canada, they all have their problems, including poverty and drug use, alot of countries represented at the olympics have alot more issues that we do.

Very true Choban. That's why I thought it was such a joke when initially they said they would force homeless people off the streets so that here wouldn't be a "negative" image of the city. Please. Vancouver is not unlike any other big city, of course there are social problems like drug users and homeless people. It's a sad but true fact. Sweeping these things under the carpet, even temporarily, doesn't change anything.

If they had jobs to go to they wouldn't be protesting.

It is as long as someone else is feeding them.

It seems that in most of these protests you see the same faces, it's only the placards that change!
