Tobey Maguire's web-slinging days are behind him. The 34-year-old actor and "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi will not be returning to the superhero franchise next year. Instead, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios announced Monday that a new "Spider-Man" f

    I find this unnecessary.

This is what happens when Marvel is bought up by Disney and is mutated into what they hope is a golden goose.

Disney fluffing things up for their kids. Are they going to try and slip a Hannah Montana cameo or song into it?

Just wait. one of the Jonas Bros. will be the new Spiderman and whatever new tween star Disney's dug up from the grist mill will be Mary Jane.

But they better not mess around with The Avengers or there will be hell to pay.

I don't really think Spiderman needed a reboot. It's certainly not like Spiderman 3 was a shameful Batman and Robin...

Read that this reboot thing is going "dark" a la Nolan's Batman. Dumb. Stick to source material and good scripts, directors and actors. Or go away for a decade, then reboot it. Dumb move, but i'm sure Raimi is happy as there was apparently a lot of issue behind the scenes on Spiderm4n.

Ya I was hearing tell of bringing in shadowcat and either mysterio or the vulture. I think Raimi was pressured on 3 which is why is was kinda sub par, so being pressured into a 4 wouldnt be good either.

I say enough already, I lose interest in these things after 3 movies. Hollywood tends to over do things and it's good that for 4 who ever wants to watch can see someone eles playing the parts, fo me I probably won't even watch it

I think it's a good move for Maguire. There's no reason for him to do a fourth. Three is good enough and now he has the ability to pick and choose what he wants to do next. Unless they can get another big name, serious actor to fill the shoes I think Spiderman 4 is going to be a mighty fail.
