Yes... yes we do.
"Crowds gathered in the Downtown Eastside on Saturday morning to witness the return of a Vancouver landmark: A massive, 6700-lb. red 'W'."
I just read that, and though. . .Really? Crowds? On a Saturday morning? For a big red "W". Hmmm. What would a big golden "M" do for you guys? Stop traffic?
Sorry DrCaleb if I sound like a dweeb but I must admit I'm glad to see the "W" back.
It was just one of those goofy landmarks that you grew up knowing. I remember thinking it was sad when it was taken down but now it's back where it belongs.
Gramma lived off Commercial Dr, every time you got a drink of water you saw that big W from in the window over the sink in the 60s. Glad to see it back. Be nice to see the return of some neon art downtown too.
KNOW ran a film on Vancouver's neon history. Brought back a lot of memories. Vancouver was once the neon capital of Canada. Got me to look into some quotes so my store can have the only neon sign in our town.
