HOUSTON (AP) — A Houston mother remained jailed Wednesday after authorities said she flew to Canada and lured a 16-year-old boy, whom she allegedly had an online sexual relationship with for more than a year, away from his home.

    Apparently, she didn't 'break any laws' in Canada so I don't understand how she can be charged, or what she is charged with in the U.S.

    Is this legal in Canada? The age of consent is 16.

    Authorities say Price started having an online sexual relationship with the boy, then 15 years old, in September 2008 after meeting him on the Internet video game “World of Warcraft,”

    If you read the article, you'll find this: "Lauri Price, 42, has been charged by prosecutors in Houston with two counts of online solicitation of a minor and one count of enticing a child with the intent to commit a felony." Since this crime was committed in Huston, it's the Americans who have to charge her.

    In Texas, however, the age of consent is 17, and Harris County prosecutors charged Price despite the fact that the alleged offence did not occur locally, said Hawkins.

    Price has been charged with two counts of online solicitation of a minor and one count of child enticement. None of the charges have been proven in court.
