Blue Jays Complete Trade Of Halladay To Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies introduced pitcher Roy Halladay at a news conference after he was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays for three prospects. Halladay has agreed a three-year contract extension worth $60 million with an option for a fourth year.

Roy Halladay sure was amongst the greatest to ever put on a Blue Jays' uniform.

3 highly touted prospects, but you'd think the best pitcher in the game would at least bring one proven major leaguer in return. Disappointing. And why are the Jays on the hook for $6M of Halladay's salary? Isn't the richer team supposed to be the one to eat salary in a deal like this? Mmmmmm, salary.

Unfortunately, Halladay's stock was at its highest last July - so this isn't a bad deal, it's the best one out there. So long Doc.
