The NDP are living in a dream world. Only in Canada is this and issue. I can't believe they are taking sides with those scumbags.

The Libblogs are all pissing themselves over this one, despite the fact that they were in the exact same place 4 years ago and had no answers then either.

The torture thing have been confirmed today, so I think that McKay sould have, at least, a swift kick in the ass.

Yeah I hope McKAy goes. Not just for lying--I mean they all lie, and McKay sold David Orchard on a grandaddy of a lie years ago, so we already knew he was full of it. And not just because detainees are being abused by Afghan authorities--I mean, you'd have to be braindead to think these medieval serfs aren't firing up the irons the minute we (Canadians) turn our backs.

The thing he should go for is for going after his own staff. Rather than deal with the issue, he decided to accuse his own senior staff of siding wiht the Taliban. Think for amoment what a prfoundly stupid and insulting thing comment that is. And hats off o the other diplomats, they decided they were going stand up to McKay's bullying and wrote a letter standing up to McKay ansd standing up for the ability of public servants to tell the truth.

Dude, nobody's siding with terrorists here, this is about having principles and sticking to them. If you have a Politician or military leader who just bluntly lies to the public, they should be removed from office or their military rank.

McKay should receive a trial: Torture is illegual. Even if it's against terrorists, Bin Laden, Hitler or whatever,

    Torture is against the law.

I think our reputation will survive this "tempest in a tea pot".

It's a well proven fact that all Islamic terrorists, including the taliban, routinely claim torture and abuse whenever they are captured. It was this way when the Libs were sending Afghan prisoners to the US, then the Afghans, and it's exactly the same under the Conservatives.

    This is all just politics.
