In a surprisingly undiplomatic rebuke, Prime Minister Stephen Harper was publicly chided at a traditional Chinese welcoming ceremony Thursday for taking too long to visit the country.

Absolutely. Boo him when you don't think he's being diplomatic, then boo him again when he's being diplomatic.

    Boo him on a train.
    Boo him on plane.
Will never cheer him in a box.
Will never cheer him in socks.

well, you know how that story ends.

I just hope he returned a whole bunch of shitty or counterfeit products while he was at it.

We do have to play nice with China. Afterall they're willing to take Alberta's DIRTY FILTHY OIL that Obama , Quebec and Ontario don't want.
    They prefer the bloody stuff.

They need to buy it more than we need to sell it to them.

We export 80% of what we produce, would you like us to turn it off and throw 300 000 people out of work?

Very similar to all the crappy stuff they send here. They need to sell that crap more than we need it.

Amen to that. I say a royal (cuss) you to trading with any country with as many human rights issues as China. You just can't trust a government willing to torture and maim and utterly fail to protect it's own people.

We are damn lucky we haven't been snubbed ourselves though for the condition of some of our Native reserves. Then again that is one damn complex issue because of both the attitude of some reserves and because of just how far in poverty some of these spots are.

Most of our exports go to the US, not China.
