Aside from the obvious... Here's a guy who bought his own jet so he could fly it. Why does he need to dress up in the little pilot costume too?

Agreed 100%. Here's a guy who took care of himself instead of injecting himself full of poison and winding up dead.

Iron Maiden has some great war songs: The Trooper, Run to the Hills, and Aces High, for example.
