This year will be one of the top five warmest years globally since records began 150 years ago, according to figures compiled by the Met Office.

Notice how there's no mention of the Met's connection with Phil Jones and the University of East Anglia (of the hacked emails fame) this year?
There usually is.

Notice also that they're talking about El Nino like it's this upcoming event to expect next year?
No. It's been here since at least August.

They were seeing it coming in July.

That's why it's warming.
But yeah this El Nino year will be warmer than the La Nina year of 2008. So what? That's what's supposed to happen.
Temps are still flattening for the last 11 though. No warming.
3rd highest though? Maybe, if Phil Jones and the hockey team have anything to say about it. Had/Cru, and NASA GISS are no longer believable.
Here's another prediction. It won't be the 3rd highest year by the satellite, or radio sonde temps which are the only ones you can trust.
