Poor guy, police brutality is definetly one of the disgusting truths in law enforcement.

The fact the RCMPs side was not even heard in this story says a lot about your comment.

So let me get this straight...
The guy calls a mental hospital to get admitted, the cops are sent there by that mental hospital because the guy is a danger, he goes loco in the ambulance and blames the cops...

    Okayyyyyy...

I'm with you on this one. If the guy was having issues, he was probably out of his medications or getting wrong medications or should not be given medications or taking some medications that are worse than street drugs.

He looks like a pretty big guy too, I would think it was a no win situation for the cops.

But one never knows until they really know. I have a bit of distrust of media reporting.

    Brenda et al,

I do see your point, but look at the police reponse, 'cite fears for safety' that is like the public safety caveat used far to often than allows people in authority to abuse that trust.

That is why in Canada as a general rule of thumb we prosecute anyone who defends themselves. Why the double standard?

Well, he apparently was a threat to himself, which is why he called the mental hospital, and why the mental hospital called the cops...

I don't condemn or condone what the police did, I don't know the facts. I just think it is odd that he takes this to court... It could be me though...
